Seachange is a relaxing family villa that can accommodate couples or families. The home has a lovely pool and patio for enjoying the ocean view and the sound of the waves from the sea below. Seachange is on the quiet east end of St. Croix, and a short walking distance to the sandy beach at Smugglers’ Cove. Venture a bit further to the amazing beaches around Point Udall, Cramer Park, Teague Bay, Jack and Isacc’s Bay. Or, if you prefer, the island’s only casino, and a 9 hole golf course are less than a 10 minute drive away. Some of the best restaurants on St. Croix are nearby, such as Blue Water Terrace, Duggan’s Reef, The Deep End Bar and Grill (famous crab races), and The Buccaneer Resort. The property is only 15 minutes’ drive from Downtown Christiansted historic district, the fort, and boat excursions. The airport is 25 minutes away. Though you can walk to the beach, a car is a huge help for eating out, site-seeing, and exploring all that St. Croix has to offer! You may just want to relax at home by your beautiful private pool during the day, or under the bright stars at night. From the pool there is a discreet outdoor shower and entrance to the Master suite. The private Master suite has a King-sized bed, and connects directly with the sitting room, which overlooks the sea. The Master bathroom, adjacent to the sitting room, has a walk in closet and an open shower with a one-way glass for an ocean view. The sitting room has a comfortable day-bed, a TV, and a Wii game system. The other two bedrooms are on the other end of the house – each with a comfortable Queen-sized bed. The larger of these bedrooms has an incredible sea view and a sliding glass door leading out to the patio and hammock. The living room has a 42″ TV, DVD/Blu-ray player, DVD collection, cable and a surround sound system for your use during your stay. Open all of the sliding glass doors during the day to let in the cool Caribbean breeze! The kitchen has everything you need from dishwater, appliances, cookware, bakeware, spices and enough rum to get you started on your St. Croix cocktails. The outside patio with dining area is where you will probably spend much of your time relaxing. The view and the gentle sound of the waves draw you in. There is formal seating for six. There is also a poolside table and chairs for snacks by the pool. All of the rooms at Seachange have AC if you need it on those hot humid days, and the whole house is powered by solar panels and wind turbine, making it Eco-friendly. About the Owners: We have served the US Government overseas for the past 13 years, along with our two children. We were originally from the Northwest, but have also lived in Arizona, Washington DC, Kuwait, Czech Republic, Botswana, South Africa, and now Kenya. After so much travel, we searched long and hard for a place to call “home”, and found it in St. Croix. After living in all weather conditions in countries large and small, we found the island to be the perfect blend of warm and welcoming residents, enjoyable activities, and relaxing vibe. As we won’t retire for a bit longer yet, we thought we would share this amazing place with you…friends, family, colleagues, and visitors looking for that perfect place for a moment of peace. We currently live and work in Nairobi, Kenya, where the citizens have a word they say warmly to everyone – “Karibu”, which means welcome! to this piece of paradise, and hope you find your stay on St. Croix enjoyable! Why We Bought This Property: We were impressed with this property from the moment we passed through the gate, and drove up the driveway with tropical plants. We truly loved the view, the quiet neighborhood, and the closeness and privacy of the beach. We really enjoy the east end, and know you will, too! Unique Benefits: In addition to the terrific house with a pool, we were looking for a home that reduced our carbon footprint, and this house does just that. Between solar and wind power, this house has the capability of producing more energy than we use. Coming originally from Seattle and Portland, we grew up with a dedication to being as ecologically responsible as possible. This is very important to our children as well, and they are proud to call this house “home”. Overall, we have found a property that meets everything we were looking for. Karibu!
